X Factor USA Show Highlights & Videos from 11/21
On tonight’s show, the Top 10 performs. This week, just like last week, two acts will be sent home, leaving us with the finale 8. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the theme of the show tonight is about giving thanks. The contestants will dedicate a song to that special person they are thankful for. The Top 10 takes the stage with their mentors and let the show begin.
Tate Stevens sings I’m Already There by Lonestar and dedicates it to his father. During the song, he gets choked up. Seems his dad is also a musician but gave up performing for his family. His father misses performing but is glad Tate is living his dream. The judges all praised him. With this performance, Tate might just come in first again this week.
Diamond White performs Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion and dedicates it to her mom. She grew up without a dad and her mom died during a surgical procedure. Diamond sings with a lot of emotion but her voice gave out during the high notes. The judges also loved her performance. Even though she needs a bit more experience and training, she did put her heart and soul into this song.
Emblem 3 performs Secrets by One Republic. They dedicate the song to their youth leaders. The group decides to go pop this week. They didn’t do so well this week. The song was bland and just too overproduced. The judges were not unanimous on this one, however. LA said their performance had no emotion; Simon of course liked it since he is their mentor.
Arin Ray sings Hero by Enrique Iglesias. He dedicates the song to his elder brother who took care of him after his dad walked out on the family. Problem is that he sounds boring, flat and he just may be one of the ones who leave the show this week. He did show some emotion during the final part of the song. Demi was bored during his performance and Simon doesn’t believe Britney is choosing the right songs for him.
CeCe Frey takes on Bette Midler’s song Wind Beneath My Wings. She dedicates the song to her sister that had cerebral palsy and had passed away. Her parents are in the audience tonight and just watching them is heartbreaking. CeCe is extremely off key and she couldn’t even finish the song because of her pain and sadness. LA praised her for her emotions, Demi was proud of her.
Fifth Harmony sings I’ll Stand by You by The Pretenders. The girls are just dedicating this song to all types of people. The song was bland and boring but their vocals were solid off and on. The judges liked their performance but weren’t overly thrilled.
Beatrice Miller sings Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. She dedicates the song to her baby sisters because they miss her. The family cant afford to come out to see her but they surprised her by being there tonight. She was very emotional throughout the song. She sounded very pitchy at times as well. Demi loved her; Simon doesn’t think she is singing the right songs.
Vino Alan takes on the very tearful song Proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood. He dedicates the song to all those in the military. Love this song but just didn’t like Vino singing it. Demi wasn’t overly impressed but Simon thinks he could be at the top of the standings tomorrow and LA was proud of him.
Paige Thomas takes on Everytime by Britney Spears. She dedicates the song to her mom’s best friend who took care of her after her mom died. She was too emotional during the song and very off key. Demi says she was pitchy, Simon says her emotions took over and LA says she was good.
Carly Rose performs Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She dedicates the song to her older brother, Russ. I thought she would have nailed this song but she didn’t. She was one of the only ones tonight who didn’t sob through the entire song. Demi liked her a lot; Simon loved her and said he thinks she will be at the top tomorrow night.
