X Factor USA Show Highlights & Videos from 9/30
This time around, the X Factor crew head over to Newark, NJ for the final set of Auditions. This time around there are more potential stars to get excited about. By now we know how the groups form up. They are Girls, Boys, Over 30s, and Groups. As this is the final set of auditions, we will soon learn who will mentor each group, as we move on to the Boot Camp round next week.
First up: Brian Bradley –- A 14-year-old from the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, N.Y. He has big ambitions, as he says he wants to be bigger than Jay-Z and Kanye. He then picked a faux fight with Simon Cowell, getting Cowell’s full attention for “Stop looking at my mom.” There were some good rhymes – “That’s my mother. That’s my mother. She looks so young he thought I was her brother”. Four yesses.
Lilianna Rose Andreano, Kelly Warner, Aaron Surgeon among others got through but were obviously not interesting enough to get their own backstories.
Andy Silikowitz wasn’t in the competition for the career or the five million dollars. What does he want? A date. After singing, it was doubtful he would get either.
He was not the worst however. Cashmere performed “Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey. It was quite bad to watch. Karaoke is more in line with her talent.
Cari Fletcher sang Heart’s “Alone”. Great performance which gets Cari all four yeses!
AusEm -– 15-year-old Duets Austin and Emily came with their own cheering squad. The judges in a tough spot because he had talent, and she was mediocre. They four yes votes, but not before we saw a brief glimpse of the uncomfortable dynamic between Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger.
Tora Woloshin -– My hands down favorite audition of the night. The 21-year-old has a very interesting look with her Marilyn Monroe hair, the tattoos, the purple boots and a captivating smile. She sang the Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back” like she was doing this all her life. The judges love her. Four yeses.
Brennin Hunt –- Next up was a male model that surprised us all with his performance of a song he wrote himself. Simon Cowell was impressed. He believed that hasn’t had much success due to bad advice. Four yeses.
Jazzlyn Little -– The judges called her a “tiger” a “brilliant little gem” and “the one to watch” and a possible future “world star.” She got four yeses. She was one of the more nervous performers, barely able to talk to the judges when she walked out. But her performance shone and sailed through easily.
