X Factor to Be Bigger and Better Than Anything Before
Simon Cowell has teamed up with Sony Music and Fox to display some of the singing finest talent America has to offer beginning in the fall of 2011. Unlike the former show, the X Factor will allow solo artists or vocal groups to compete for the five million dollar recording contract paid over five years. In addition, the age restrictions of who can enter are extremely liberal, allowing individuals twelve years old or older to compete.
Simon Cowell is excited to bring the X Factor to the US market. He states that he is wanted to bring a show “bigger and better than anything you’ve seen before”. The major difference is the ability for talent with the likes of NSYNC, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Diana Ross all to compete in the same competition. In addition, a live audience of three thousand plus people is going to be at the audition process adding pressure to the contestants. The judges of X Factor will act more as a mentor to the contestants providing them feedback to improve their performances rather than criticizing what they did wrong.
Six audition locations have been announced as of the date of writing. The first will occur in Los Angeles at the L.A. Sports Arena on March 27. The following cities will include Chicago, Dallas, Miami, New York and Seattle. Contestants are urged to be original and find a way to stand out from the crowd. Pre-registration is available for those wishing to audition on the X Factor US website.
