X Factor USA Show Highlights & Videos from 10/31 – The Live Shows Begin
The judges come out on stage with their groups which they have mentored. This is the first night of the contestants live debuts. Tonight, the judges will need to choose 8 acts that are deemed safe and the rest must sing to survive. The theme of tonight is Made in America.
Paige Thomas is up first. La Reid said he didn’t like her song choice; the rest of the judges loved her. Paige Sang “What is Love?” Arin Ray didn’t fair as well. He took on the song “Keep Me Hanging On.” The judges said he needs to sing louder and loosen up on stage. Although, Simon said he was overall impressed and Britney said she was proud of him. David Correy sang “My Love is Your Love.” The judges all loved his performance except Simon who called his performance desperate.
Sister C group sang “Hell on Hells.” They sang the song great but still have issues with the whole bog production scene. But all in all, they judges loved and praised their performance. Jennel Garcia sang “Home Sweet Home.” Jannel appeared extremely nervous. She was way out of her element. LA like her, even saying he thought she could win. Simon loved her, Britney loved her and Demi said she was proud of her. I see a possible winner or Top 3 at least here with Jennel.
Diamond White performed “Hey Soul Sister.” Britney did an awful job picking this song for her. The male judges were not impressed with her with Simon saying she needed some tuning and LA stating he thought the performance was mechanical. Demi and Britney loved her. Vino sang “Gotta Be.” He was very pitchy at the start of the song but got better as the song went on. Brittney said she was bored, Demi said his performance was shaky and Simon said it sounded like a horrible cover song.
Lyric 145 did Gangham style hip hop garbage. LA said they sounded like someone threw them in the washing machine with a ton of bleach. Britney said she was entertained and Simon called his group sensational. CeCe Frey took on “Because the Night.” Demi said she needed to be likeable. Good luck with that one. The judges were less than impressed with her weak vocals and nervousness on the stage. “I Thought I was Tough.” He has a great voice but doesn’t perform well on stage. The judges overall thought his singing was great.
Beatrice Miller took on “I Wont Give Up.” LA loved her as did the rest of the judges. Jason Brock sang “Dance Again.” He totally bombed on the song and his performance. He was underpitch and his key notes were flat. It was awful and the judges agreed with Simon saying it was horrendous. Lylas who changed their name to 1432 sang “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” It was awful. The harmonies were all wrong and they were all nervous. The judges were very critical of the group.
Willie Jones sang “I’m Here for the Party.” The judges like the performance except for Simon who said that the song was cheap and silly. Carly Rose is too young and naive to be in this competition and the judges said he same thing. Demi said she didn’t think this was her time and Simon said he didn’t think she felt comfortable with the song choice. Emblem 3 were amazing. I think they have a good shot at winning as well. The judges were all overly impressed.
Stay tuned tomorrow night when 8 get sent home.
